Design Software

Create original PixelHobby designs from digital photographs/images using our free PixelHobby Designer application. The application is available as a web application and a Windows® application.

Both applications include these features:

Web Application

Create designs using your web browser. Most browsers supported including Safari on the Apple® Mac and iPad®. Basic image-to-mosaic conversion features included.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Supported and tested on most current web browsers including:
    • Chrome
    • Safari - requires IOS6 or later on the iPad
    • Firefox
    • Internet Explorer 9 or later
    • Opera

If you experience any problems using this web application, then please try updating your web browser.

IMPORTANT: When printing the PDF of your design, be sure to un-select the fit-to-page sizing option that your PDF viewer may offer. It is very important that you print the PDF at true size.

Windows Application

Use our Windows® application for more design features including tools for drawing/editing and touch-up of your designs after importing.

The latest version is 2.5. This version adds support for the new XL pixel size and the 2.4" x 2.4" plate.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Windows® XP/Vista/7/8
  • Printer (color or black-only)

Installation Directions

  1. Click the button below to start the download. If your browser asks whether it should run (or open) the file after it is downloaded, select Yes. Otherwise, select a location on your hard disk for the file. The download size is approximately 3 MBytes in size.

  2. After the download is complete, either allow the browser to automatically run/open the downloaded file, or manually run it by double-clicking it using the Windows® File Explorer. The setup program will then be started.
  3. Please follow the setup program directions to complete the installation.
  4. To open the program, select: Start, Programs (or All Programs), PixelHobby Designer, and then click the PixelHobby Designer shortcut. On Windows 8, select PixelHobby Designer from the start page.

Help in Using the Program

The program includes built-in help that explains how to create a design and use the program. To view the help, click at the top of the window. Clicking it again will hide the help information.
